when i logged in, my red wordpress bell was on. i clicked and was congratulated for the blog surpassing 200 subscribers. with this, i thank you, the readers.
in high school i fantasized of being a writer ala cameron crowe, my career path, however, took went down a different rabbit hole. with law school, my writing became legal and was constrained by an ethical code to both fairly and honestly describe the facts and to most accurately identify authority. in law, there is no license to engage in the impossible, the improbable, or the laughable.
being engaged in legal writing for over thirty years is like to circumnavigating the world many times over in the slow lane. risk taking amounts to going five miles over the speed limit. with writing this blog, the shackles of “points and authorities” and the dreaded “irac” -issue, rule, application and conclusion- were broken. with this came freedom, as with the case of spiderman, came great responsibility. with the ten commandments’ topic brings with it a sense of truthfulness and principles. otherwise, flexing the creative mind was welcomed.
beyond the message, the blog’s goal has two intents; first, to provide something far different from parroting news articles, and second, to make each blog post have something meaningful or new to my readers. this blog is should have that “word of the day” calendar feel. everyday, reading this blog should give you something new to know. otherwise, it may serve as a reminder.
with this new approach on writing, i have hit many books on writing. i will be devoting a post on the many inspiration writing books i have read. in essence, to improve one’s writing, one must read some really, really, really good writing. word crafters can be amazing! reading their beautiful sentences is truly eye candy.
in sum, thank you. i hope to put on more content that will help you live a wonderful and successful life.
be well!!
