jta journalist ron kampeas in a june 13, 2023 article cited an anonymous biden administration source. jta.org

under the cover of darkness, this source disparaged israeli diaspora minister amichai chikli. according to the article, this so-called “senior” biden administration official did so along with a “so-called” chorus of americans. journalist ron kampeas “quoted” the administrative official and, upon the individual’s request, was given anonymity. the individual was “allegedly” prohibited from speaking by name without authorization.

mr. kampeas’ respect for the official’s anonymity request is remarkable. not too long ago, mr. kampeas was in the “chorus” of journalists chanting out the the name of the the twitter account “the libs of tiktok”. jta.org she, an orthodox jewish woman, just like the biden official, wished to be anonymous. mr. kampeas, in that instance, felt comfortable to “out” someone. the jta on 4/24/22, devoted a full article as to “why” the identity of the libs of tiktok was fair game.

should there any difference between the anonymity of “biden” official versus the libs of tiktok?

first, according to mr. kampeas’ reporting, it was possible that the official could have obtained administrative clearance for the “quote”. the statement was not controversial. he wasn’t a whistle blower disclosing government secrets of little green men and a crashed uaps. certainly, the openly hostile towards israel biden administration, in my estimation, would certainly be comfortable in affirming any slight at the israeli government. l

further, there is public interest in biden official’s name. this “senior” official someday might someday run for office or seek a cabinet position.

in sum, mr. kampeas’ latest article masterfully displays leftist propaganda journalism. standards, practices and consistency must take the back seat towards ideology.
