Almost Final Justice For Ee Lee

significant developments have happened with the defendants’ sentencing with respect to the ee lee murder. with respect defendant mr. kevin t. spencer jr., his sentencing hearing scheduled for 6/2/23, was continued to 8/3/23, before judge yamahiro.

with respect to the other defendant, mr. kamare lewis’ sentencing hearing for 6/16/23 proceeded and he received the following sentence:

“COUNT 1: The Court sentenced the defendant to a MAXIMUM TERM OF IMPRISONMENT of 45 YEARS CONCURRENT with count 2, with credit for 861 days time served; the INITIAL TERM OF CONFINEMENT in the Wisconsin State Prison System is 26 years; the MAXIMUM TERM OF EXTENDED SUPERVISION is 19 years. The defendant is not eligible for the Challenge Incarceration Program or the Wisconsin Substance Abuse Program. COUNT 2: The Court sentenced the defendant to a MAXIMUM TERM OF IMPRISONMENT of 10 YEARS CONCURRENT with count 1, with credit for 861 days time served; the INITIAL TERM OF CONFINEMENT in the Wisconsin State Prison System is 5 years; the MAXIMUM TERM OF EXTENDED SUPERVISION is 5 years. The defendant is not eligible for the Challenge Incarceration Program or the Wisconsin Substance Abuse Program. Terms of extended supervision: No law violations rising to the level of probable cause Cooperate with the Department and any treatment deemed appropriate Sex Offender assessment and any treatment AODA assessment and cooperate with any treatment Maintain absolute sobriety with random urine screens Cognitive Intervention course Obtain Mental health assessment and take all prescribed medications. Seek and maintain full time employment upon release Obtain GED No contact with victims family Restitution Zero Provide DNA sample The court orders defendant to pay all costs, fees, assessments, and surcharges; DOC shall collect prison funds at an amount or percentage deemed appropriate by the Department of Corrections; balance to be collected during the period of extended supervision; any unpaid amount to convert to a civil judgment. Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes section 973.176, the Court advised the defendant of the following restrictions: Firearm possession; Voting Exhibit 1 received.” [note: it would appear that the sentence is for 26 years of incarceration. the second count, running concurrently, would add any additional time.]
