The Nothing Story About Everything

is cutting in line a big deal? perhaps, yes!

jumping the queue explains much of society’s ills. humans’ insatiable need to unjustly gain advantage is so profound that individuals are willing to masquerade as markedly disabled persons. individuals are now more than happy to be part of a liar’s parade complete with doubting spectators. wheelchairs are the floats and these parades occur on a daily basis at various airports.

according to a recent report, southwest airlines is beset with a pre-boarding scam. the airline has received a complaint that flyers are requesting wheelchair assistance in order for them to board first. the individual claimed on on flight that 20 people needed the wheelchairs to board and only 3 needed them to depart. the airline responded to the complaint indicating that they are essentially powerless to address the problem. nypost.com

years ago, a judge educated me about “gaming the system” and its prevalence. in an article concerning medicine, the consequences were discussed: “though tempting, gaming is morally and medically hazardous. it can harm patients and society, offend honesty, and violate basic principles of contractual and distributive justice.” gaming the system dodging the rules, ruling the dodgers, e. haavi morreim, phd.

sadly, draconian measures must occur to combat these problems. accordingly, society must need to courage to address these issues head-on. otherwise, the public will remain subjected to dalliances of the privileged and immoral among us.

be well!!
