The Failure [and Success] of Post [Actual] Modern Medicine, Exhibit 4

doctors in israel may have successfully made a young child’s life much happier. the doctors detected, while the baby was in utero, that her ovaries were twisted. this serious condition placed the soon to be born child at risk of both infertility and hormonal problems.

at hadassah hospital, innovative doctors- in a first of its kind procedure- performed a corrective surgery. to accomplish this sexual preserving operation, the child was prematurely born via cesarean section. the state of the art surgery then took place within a half an hour of her birth. timesofisrael.com

in some parts of america- including the white house and in certain medical schools- this act of actual medicine must have created cognitive dissonance. in a world where fetuses have been promoted as abortion worthy biological material, how could doctors transform a non-human being into a living human being? further, why would a medical institution try to preserve a child’s sexuality and assist them in the process of normal hormonal production and fertility when medicine is now in the business of gender affirmation which includes supplying young children puberty blockers, prescribing them to take abnormal hormones, and sterilizing them? why do a procedure to put them on the normal track of human development when bizarre cosmetic procedures can be provided in pursuit of addressing mental health issues?

the reality is that the united states, and other countries, have limited budgets for medical expenditures. health insurance premiums are becoming unaffordable and can be as much as mortgage, rent or car payment. expenditures on unsuccessful ideological pseudoscience, in the end, will further raise the costs for everyone’s insurance.

the evidence is mounting as to whether gender medical procedures have any value. one study concluded that “persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group.” long-term follow-up of transsexual persons undergoing sex reassignment surgery: cohort study in sweden. one can cynically look at the study and conclude that perhaps treatment, other than sex reassignment, should be provided as the procedures are far from successful. this study is not alone. there are increasing reports of dissatisfaction post gender affirmation procedures. dailymail.com [note: sex reassignment, as a term, is a misnomer.]

in sum, the field of medicine desperately needs more inspiring medical procedures to inspire the field of medicine to get back on the right track.

be well!!
