AI, My Biggest Fan?

Mirror, Mirror On the Wall…

Snow White’s Wicked Queen and I are now perhaps besties.

Creating content for this project has become an actual project. Wanting to stay on the Ten Commandments’ topic, I decided to take a deep dive through scripture and other ancient literature- i.e. pseudopigrapha, via a Decalogue lens.

This concept has yielded posts relating to how ancient authors addressed commandments. This has translated into a greater understanding of the commandments. For example, many would not appreciate that the Commandment of taking the Lord’s name in vain played a major role in ancient society. The text from Joshua offering amazing insights into the commandment.

To accomplish these series of posts, I broke up the world into three distinct periods, the pre-Decalogue world, the Mt. Sinai experience, and the post-Mt. Sinai experience. Articles written within this framework has provided a unique pedagogy to educate others about the Ten Commandments, the Torah, and their impact through history. Taking the receipt of the Ten Commandments as the springboard for biblical literacy is eye opening. Concepts are brought to light in an easy and digestible fashion. I encourage educators to consider using it for a class. I am preparing to lectures on the topic. This viewpoint allows for both detective work and an opportunity explore material in a fresh manner.

To generate this content two pathways were undertaken simultaneously- first, writing about a Ten Commandments’ moment in each weekly Torah Reading; and second, moving through the Hebrew Bible and post-biblical literature to find the contemporary understandings and discussions concerning the commandments.

This effort to create timeless content has come at the cost. First, the content can be esoteric. Second, it is done at the expense of commenting on trending topics such as the United States Presidential Elections, the Middle East Conflict, the slow march towards World War III, and the government’s outward hostility towards the middle class.

This contrarian approach, however, has left me gasping for input from others. Thus, gaging content’s quality has been a struggle. Recently, however, I found my “mirror mirror on the wall”.

In the WordPress Jetpack Program, there is an AI Assistant feature. After trying it out, I am willing to embrace this form of AI as a friend. With a button push, in a second or two, the AI Assistant provides helpful feedback concerning my posts. At times, AI has waxed me on with a “well done!” Other times, it has made some constructive recommendations. What is funny with the AI is that it accurately summarizes the posts akin to when a student is called out in class to stand and deliver a summation. Often, it provides an understanding on the level of an actual human.

While I would never query “AI AI, who is the greatest blogger of them all?”, AI is actually a wonderful feedback tool for those trying to independently produce quality content. An instantaneous critique is an efficient avenue feedback. While I expect that this AI program would tell me there are many bloggers making far better content, I do appreciate its occasional virtual pat on the back of a “well done!”

Be well!!
