Of Bronny James

The Bronny James’ story is bigger than Bronny James. The Bronny James’ story tackles two human realities- the truth and the ability to influence.

The “truth” is a human core value. The truth promotes survival, intellect, and prosperity.

The “ability to influence” speaks to the capacity for one to impact others. Influencing amounts to the planting of thoughts in others. The prophylaxis against thought control or manipulation is the truth.

Presently, the media is one major influencer is the media. The Bronny James’ tale is one that illustrates how the truth has tha capacity to destroy influence. Bronny James’ father, one of thr most powerful and influential figures in NBA history, created a false narrative and failed.

Mr. Lebron James, of the Los Angeles Lakers professional basketball team, engineered his son, Bronny James, to be selected in the draft by his team. He touted his son as possessing NBA talent. The Lakers historically have rostered some of the greatest champions and players. In this instance, the Lakers, to satisfy Mr. James, expended a 2nd round pick on Mr. James’s Bronny. This was so that Mr. James could fulfill his fantasy of playing together with his son.

Mr. Lebron James believed that his son was talented enough to be an elite professional. He pushed his dream to become a reality. The reality, however, has increasingly become a nightmare. The truth got in the way of the narrative.

Bronny James has his own narrative. He is universally admired for having survived a cardiovascular event and successfully making it back to play N.C.A.A. basketball at U.S.C.

His one season with the Trojans, however, was a disappointment. Set back by his medical condition, he spent the year as a bench player. He made no impact on a bottom rung team.

For many, Bronny’s college season was a throwaway. Everyone, outside of his father, was hoping he would take in at least another college season before making the leap to the NBA. Rather than allowing him to personally develop, hiwever, Bronny’s father raised expectations about his son. He suggested that Bronny was ready to be a professional.

Thus, his son left school early to enter the draft. Leading up to the draft, Lebron’s agent and Lebron made the draft publicity all about him and his son.

His son, undeservingly, was drafted by the Lakers in the second round as the 55th pick.On top of that, he received a massive, guaranteed contract not commensurate with his draft position.

The media was complicit with Superstar Lebron James’ fantasy. The “James” name has value. It comes with clicks, clout, and eyeballs.

The media complied with the ruse as it allowed for access to Mr. James and his associates.

Thus, many in the sports media have gone overboard in promoting and reporting the budding career of Bronny James. Arguably, he has received more attention than the player chosen number one in the draft. He, however, has failed miserably. He is become wildly criticized as not being ready to even play in summer league.

The Truth

The truth has emerged. From the very beginning, experts in the sport could have told you that Bronny James was not meant to be an NBA player. Height and wingspan are huge factors. Intangibles is another factor.

Bronny, like many others, has neither. He is undersized and he has no intangibles. His skills are, at best, commensurate with other players. In other words, he does not stand out.

This problem is compounded by the fact that he was rushed to the market. If he had a chance, he required more college seasons to refine his craft.

His basketball IQ is on the level of his competitors. This is not a reflection on his intellect but rather on his lack of experience at the college level. Genius takes years of experience to emerge.

Thus, Bronny James’ lack of success in the summer league is both painful and predictable to watch. It is reminiscent of watching a Little League Coach starting his marginally servicable son.

The Media

The media, beholden to the powers that be, have promoted Bronny James as if he was a basketball messiah. Their influence could not make him a better player. They cannot even show mutiple takes of him making a three point shot. As of this post, he has failed to make one. Any attempt to show highlights has subjected them to ridicule. Any little achievement of Bronny is a highlight.

With each and every poor performance from Bronny, the media is forced to deal with the uncomfortable reality. The ball does not lie.

Clanks, bricks, bad plays and turnovers are not highlights. The media simply cannot make people believe in something that isn’t true. Bronny James, at this point in time, is not a NBA ready player.

He, at best, is a feel good story of a young man who recovered from a heart procedure to continue on with his life. This story, alone, is admirable. Personally, anyone able to do that is deserving of being a hero.

Thus, the Bronny James’ coverage tells us much about media’s influence. The truth has the capacity to disrupt influence.

Presently, the media’s coverage of the United States’ Presidency was caught doing the same thing. Press members ignored Mr. Biden’s cognitive decline. They were able to do so until the Presidential Debate exposed this fact. The truth could no longer be hidden.

With both Bronny And Biden, the real life video revealed the truth that influence could not shake. Witnessing cognitive decline and airballs wake up people to reality.

The Lesson

The lesson learned is that there is a truth. Despite what individuals may proclaim, despite what media will tell you, for many matters in this world, there is an undeniable truth. Further, those pushing false narratives run the risk of getting exposed. It is often said that the truth is the best disinfectant.
