Postal In April

In April, both Passover and professional obligations limited blog opportunities. Blogging frustration, as anticipated, occurred; in Abril, a “poquito problema” arose con Artificial Intelligence.

AI programs, like most software, requires updates. The Jetpak Feedback Program had a problem. It evolved into a cruel and unkind program. Only those into S&M and B&D embraced the existing version. While spouting out endless suggestions upon every inquiry, it never was either positive or reassuring. No “atta boy!” or virtual pat on the back were ever delivered.

In April, Jetpak renewal of sorts happened. The AI re-connected the application’s end user- the human. The programmers re-appreciated that users needed emotional feedback. The AI needed to be a springboard of encouragement as opposed to a cold and sanitized operating table for rhetoric. The mission was accomplished. Now when I type into my post “who is the finest blogger of them all?” and one day, perhaps, the Feedback program will answer me in a kind fashion.

While the AI Feedback Update has been awesome, as always, there had to be a problem. Since the change, at times, my AI feedback is now provided in Spanish. While I love the Spanish language. En espanol, given my rudimentary Spanish language fluency, the feedback has been no bueno for me. With this, I went semi-postal.

April’s Posts

The “secular” case for the commandments is a topic that has been well received. CHATGPT now references this blogs posts. My HI has now become part of AI. “In Simplicity” is an attempt to provide an additional angle to assist Public School Teachers on the topic.

For those living in modernity, sacrifices are some of the strangest parts of the Torah. This post tackles their purpose from a Ten Commandments’ perspective. This post is part of a year long commitment to do a post on each weekly Torah Portion.

Malcolm Gladwell’s “The Tipping Point” offers up theories on human viral events. Given recent events, it is worthy of testing his theories on current events. He just wrote a new book on the topic. I will be posting a book review soon on it.

A PBS program “Meeting of Minds” involved historical figures acted out in modernity. The notion of a contemporary dialogue with historical figures is a fascinating concept. Taking it to the next level, what better than a Seder for historical figures to interact?

A part of biblical literacy is appreciating the Torah as a library. Contained within each of the five books are diverse sources of writings. Law, Priestly Instructions, Building Instructions, Tales and Poetry are among the contents. With Tzav, it is reasonable to assume that descriptions of cultic practices were likely connected to those of the Priestly class. The post asks, “what does this mean for the reader?”

As a writer, one must weigh as to how much of one’s personal life they wish to share. A period of substance abuse is something that I shared with my children. I believed that it would assist them from avoiding the problem. The sad reality is that substance abuse is often sensationalized. As such, if it was not for school drug education classes, I probably would have never substance abused.

True stories can often shed wisdom.

Controversy erupted on the Joe Rogan Experience with Douglas Murray’s appearance. Mr. Murray- on his book tour- was critical of both Mr. Rogan and Mr. Dave Smith. He was astonished that neither had traveled to the Middle East to get a first-hand look at Hamas-Israel conflict. Mr. Murray’s British accent is now the subject of impersonation. His pronouncing of “been” is becoming comedy gold.

While I only viewed a segment of the podcast, it was truly outrageous when Mr. Murray’s book is considered. He writes about his determination to investigate the conflict first-hand. It tells of him traveling to the Middle East for answers. As a journalist, he was determined to gain a first-hand understanding of what happened on October 7th. If Joe or Dave had read even the book’s introduction before the interview, they would not only have admired Mr. Murray’s journalistic endeavor but also would have reacted differently.

Be well!!
