The Truth: The First Rail

In truth, in justice and in righteousness

Jeremiah 4:2

Is “societal health” determined by the factors truth, justice and righteousness? Are these three rails necessary for a healthy and functional society?

These three distinct categories arise from the Prophets’ observations. In Ten Commandments’ based governance scheme, there are matter concerning the truth. Further, there are express dictates with respect to the justice system- both in structure and laws. Finally, there is the righteous component. While it addresses morality, there is a focus on social responsibility. The obligation to address the needs of those requiring assistance, i.e. the widow and the orphan.

In antiquity, the Prophets identified and criticized those in power for deviating from the Torah’s standards. Often, failures were characterized in terms of matters of truth, justice and righteousness.

Presently, political and social commentators have assumed the role of the Hebrew Bible’s Prophets. Scriptural dramatics, however, have been replaced with opinion pieces, posts, blogs or podcasts. Further, individuals have access to many mediums to stir the conscience of both the public and those in power. Modern commentators frequently touch exactly on the Prophets’ categorical observations of truth, justice and righteousness.

It is posited that a nation’s health is subject to the well-being is dependent upon these three rails. Per scripture, good conduct is “blessing” worthy. Likewise, with respect to the human psyche, people feel good living their lives with a “clear conscience.”

The Voter’s Role

In a democracy, the citizens judge their society when they cast their vote. The voters place in power those who they believe can deliver. This power is often directed to whether or not to maintain status quo.

The 2024, United States Presidential Election illustrates this point with the limited issue of “truth.” The United States bases itself as a country founded based upon the belief of a creator. It is asserted that creator provided for inalienable rights.

This very creator, according to scripture, made humanity consisting of two sexes, male and female. Genesis 1:27. Beyond scripture, the notion of two sexes is confirmed by science.

Before the 2024 election, gender ideology was promulgated throughout society. Gender is a human invention. The definitions surrounding gender ideology is only limited by human imagination. For example, it includes furries; people identifying as animals with human characteristics.

Gender ideology, which is deeply tied to socialistic power ambitions, invaded the notion of sex. With this advance, a new source of political power was created.

Gender ideology replacing biological sex changed the country’s landscape. Men were allowed use women’s bathrooms; be incarcerated in women’s prisons; and be allowed to compete in women’s sports. Men’s promotions and awards were even embraced as a female achievements. By divorcing the truth- biology, and replacing it with ideology, anything was possible.

This confusion distorted a long standing societal “truth.” Sex matters. Gender is not a “societal” truth. Rather, it is a device used to disrupt “societal” truth. This was best illustrated in a pre-election Supreme Court Justice confirmation hearing in which “what is a woman?” became a charged question.

This “truth” struck a cord with the voting public. One of the election’s most effective advertisements was of VP Kamala Harris. She was captured supporting taxpayer funded gender affirming care for federal prisoners and those under immigration detention. Even Democrat pundits felt that the ad effectively dealt a blow to the Harris/Walz ticket.

In the end, the American People rejected those promoting gender ideology. The American voters saw how the Biden administration embraced gender ideology. They saw the Harris/Walz ticket as a continuation of the prior administration.

Some voters chose to re-elect President Trump simply to reject this departure from a “societal” truth. These voters acted as guardians of the societal truth that tere are two sexes.

As a result of the election, gender ideology was quickly dispensed from being the law of the land. On his first day in office, President Trump issued an Executive Order on the issue. He re-established biological sex as the determining factor in certain laws and eliminating gender’s application.

Conclusion

In a democratic society, voters determine their country’s fate. Like the pundits and commentators, they establish their nation’s trajectory. Matters such as “in truth, in justice and in righteousness” are central factors in their decision-making.

Whether someone is conservative or liberal, the concept of the “truth” plays a factor. For those wishing for a healthy nation, all three rails- truth, justice and righteousness- must be functioning and effective.
