it’s christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid
at christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade

the verb is a powerful part of language. a verb describes an act. over thousands of years, acts have been complied and been reduced to verbs. in modern times, we have the invented new verbs derived from technology. xerox, fax and google are examples.
sometimes, an individual’s conduct can create a new verb or term. franz kafka’s writing was the impetus for the adverb “kafkaesque. ” dr. anthony fauci’s conduct has earned him a verb of his own, the “fauci.”
according to his biography at nih, “dr. fauci also is the longtime chief of the laboratory of immunoregulation. he has made many contributions to basic and clinical research on the pathogenesis and treatment of immune-mediated and infectious diseases. he helped pioneer the field of human immunoregulation by making important basic scientific observations that underpin the current understanding of the regulation of the human immune response. ” nih
it is important to note that dr. fauci’s top qualifications are not as either an active treating physician in the field of infectious disease or as motivational specialist, i.e. tony robbins. he is an expert in his field of science.
prior to getting to what a “fauci” is, we must be reminded of the recent israeli study entitled comparing SARS-CoV-2 natural immunity to vaccine-induced immunity: reinfections versus breakthrough infections. the conclusion of the study was “that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the delta variant.”
the study’s value is that it is published from israeli scientists. in that country, there may be some pressure from a vaccine-friendy israeli government to not publish such a paper. the study’s conclusion does make some positive findings with respect to the vaccine.
dr. fauci, a fixture on the media, was force to backtrack on an early pessistic christmas celebration statement to say ‘i will be spending christmas with my family, i encourage people, particularly the vaccinated people who are protected, to have a good, normal christmas with your family.’ dailymail
this statement is a complete “fauci.”
a “fauci” is defined as an intellectually dishonest statement made by an authority that undermines the public’s trust.
as research shows, individuals who had covid-19 may well in fact have better immunity than those vaccinated. since they are protected, aren’t they deserving of having a seat around the christmas tree or fireplace? while dr. fauci is well within his right and role to advocate vaccination, his lack of honesty is disconcerting.
it is clear. too many “fauci”s are not good for your health. if you hear too many about the upcoming holiday season, they will make your head spin like a dreydel!
in sum, families, religious institutions, and businesses need to manage the holiday season events to protect their attendees. likewise, attendees need to take care of their own health care needs. social distancing, masking, vaccination, and any and all other resources should be considered. while i am not a doctor, the greatest likely danger during the holiday season is the individual who is not feeling well attending the affair. therefore, individuals who are concerned that they may be infected or sick should take it upon themselves to seek medical attention and clearance prior to attending any celebration. this advice is no “fauci!”
be well!!
