on 3/16/23, the second defendant in the ee lee murder case pled guilty. yesterday, mr. kamare lewis pled guilty to 1st-degree reckless homicide and 2nd degree sexual assault/use of force, according to court records. sentencing is scheduled for 6/16/23. the court document noted “COUNTS 1 and 2: defendant was advised of constitutional rights and maximum penalties, waived all rights, and plead[sic] guilty.”
with this plea, no trial is likely to be held and the horrific story will not be told. one of the remaining questions is “how much time will a judge impose on these two individuals who reportedly sexually assaulted and murdered an innocent woman at a time when she was simply sitting on a blanket in a public park?”
