what is cavod-20? cavod is a hebrew term. כָּבוֹד. per oxford reference, “it means (), a term with social, moral, and theological implications derived from the Hebrew root for weight, meaning honor, respect, reverence, importance, distinction, or glory. a person gives kavod (honor) to …” 20, is of course the year 2020. cavod-20 carriers bring to world a message of a moral world. one of respect and reverence to other humans. further, cavod-20 carriers bring the message of respect, reverence and glory to the creator of the universe.
covid-19, represents a dystopia. totalitarian politicians have demanded upon certain people social distancing guidelines which have in effect destroyed their ability to practice religion, which taking a blind eye towards their supporters’ “celebrations,” “protests,” “riots,” and “looting.”
why are celebrations and gatherings of totalitarian politicians’ supporters more equal then the celebrations and gatherings of those who wish to fulfill their commitments to god and goodness in this world?
of great irony have been the recent celebrations which have been socially distant non-compliant. they were celebrating for a politician who had the audacity at times to wear two masks and not just one!
why are some celebrations more equal than other celebrations? we know the answer. their are people in society who believe that they are better than others. therefore, they are entitled to do whatever they want to do. further, they believe that those who disagree with them have not rights in society because they have other beliefs.
is it time to get off the farm, the “animal farm?” george orwell brilliantly presented this issue to the world in his novel “animal farm” which contained the famous line “all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
it is a time to fight back. we must become superspreaders of cavod-20.
when i started this blog, i did not want to see covid-19, shutdowns to destroy religion by preventing its practice and education. i wanted to be able to attend services and show my respect. i am now fully infected with the need to devote some time out of every day trying to instill a little more morality and goodness into this world. i hope that i will never recover from this infection and that it lasts along time.
i challenge you to get infected with cavod-20. reach out to those who are suffering and let them know that there is hope in this world. let them know that values still matter and that there are people who truly care about them and not just the others. please support institutions and organizations that are promoting religion during this trying time.
we are the people that wish to connected with an eternal leader for which we have a binding covenant of goodness, fairness, and justice for all. we are those who have this desire recognize that we are all god’s creation and are entitled to be treated with fairness and justice irrespective of our station in life.
